Design of Online Vitals Monitor by Integrating Big Data and IoT

In this work, we design a multisensory IoT-based online vitals monitor (hereinafter referred to as the VITALS) sense four bedside physiological parameters including pulse (heart) rate, body temperature, blood pressure, and peripheral oxygen saturation. Then, proposed system constantly transfers these signals analytics which aids in enhancing diagnostics at an earlier stage well monitoring after recovery. The core hardware of VITALS includes commercial off-the-shelf sensing devices/medical equipment, powerful microcontroller, reliable wireless communication module, big data system. It extracts human vital signs pre-programmed interval 30 min sends them through WiFi module for further analysis. We use Apache Kafka (to gather live streams from connected sensors), Spark categorize patient notify medical professionals while identifying abnormalities parameters), Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) archive analysis long-term storage), SQL, Hive Matplotlib support caregivers access/visualize appropriate information collected explore/understand health status individuals). addition, develop mobile application send statistical graphs doctors patients enable conditions remotely. Our is implemented on three 7 days check effectiveness sensing, processing, transmission mechanisms. To validate accuracy, compare values established sensors with measured readouts using healthcare monitor, Welch Allyn® Spot Check. provides improved care solutions, especially those whose access services limited.
